If you aren't familiar with the moving industry, you'll learn quickly that it is busier during certain times of the year than others. For that reason, we hire seasonal employees every year. These jobs vary in length and type and we try to work with each good applicant to accomodate specific circumstances if needed. Whether you're a student looking to earn money during a school break or if you already have a seasonal job and need to fill the gaps, we can help.
Consumer Operations - Full Time
Be the person who makes the magic happen when a family needs to move.
Commercial Operations - Full Time
Prepare a family to move by packing them into boxes.
Administrative - Full/Part Time
Work behind the scenes to make sure the information flows freely. (Limited Position)
Types of Seasonal Jobs:
Movers - Full Time
Movers are the individuals who will show up to your house on moving day to get the job done. You'll have to be able to lift 100lbs and be on your feet most of the day. It's a great way to keep in shape and get paid at the same time. Because of the nature of the work, movers are typically able to work 40 or more hours a week - especially during the summer months. Pay for this position depends on the location, and the need. Inquire with the local office for current hourly wage.
Packers - Full Time
Some time before movers arrive, packers will be sent to put all of the customers belongings in boxes. There's an art to it and requires some problem solving skills and an ability to be moving all day. Typically, there is only a small lifting requirement, about 30-40lbs. Pay for this position depends on the location, and the need. Inquire with the local office for current hourly wage.
Administrative Help - Full or Part Time
This position is typically limited in need, we typically only need a few people per season, so if you're interested in this, you may want to get a jump on applying. This position helps out with the clerical aspects of our business from paperwork to data entry and phone work. Pay for this position depends on the location, and the need. Inquire with the local office for current hourly wage.
We need the most help between the months of May and September - perfect if you're on a summer break from school. We hire seasonal employees during other months too, but not in the same volume. Check in with the local office if you're looking for seasonal work outside of May to September.
Why You Want This Job Over Others
Unlike food service or retail, we can keep you busy all summer long - full time. You'll meet some great people, learn some great practical skills (you'll have to move yourself one day...) and get paid better than most other jobs. We like people who come in and show they can work hard and enjoy making a difference in the lives of others. Remember, when you move someone, you're literally moving everything they own; it's a very personal service. We often get good seasonal employees that come back every summer because their earning potential is much higher than average and the work is more rewarding. You're in a new place every day, all while making great money.
