Most of our customers know Bailey's Moving & Storage as a residential moving company. While residential moves are among our most common tasks, occasionally we get the chance to have a little fun with something outside of our normal services. Sometimes we move entire offices from one city to another. Sometimes we move and store extra hospital beds amid COVID-19. And sometimes we get even more adventurous by helping transport a brick oven from a pizza joint in Utah all the way to Hawaii.
There Is No Feat Too Big or Too Small That Our Team Can't Handle
That is why when the BYU football team needed their equipment hauled across the country in record time, they had no hesitation that Bailey's would be perfect for the job. On Tuesday, December 2nd, BYU finalized a last minute schedule change and agreed to an impromptu football game against Coastal Carolina on the following Saturday. This was a big game for them as a win could help the undefeated team secure a spot in the playoffs. Head coach Kalani Sitake had no worries that his team could pull it off, but if the equipment didn’t make it on time, the win would be nearly impossible.
Our drivers, Hal Morrell and Fili Taufa, were eager to get this 40 hour journey started despite the fast turnaround. After the Cougars late night practice on Wednesday, the two drivers embarked on the 2,200 mile drive from Provo, UT to Conway, SC.
Due to federal regulations, the two drivers had to switch off every 11 hours and take a 30 minute break in between shifts. It was important for our drivers to stay on track as their planned arrival time only allotted a 3 hour window to prepare everything at the hotel and meet the team at the airport. Luckily, the traffic and weather were in their favor and the equipment truck arrived on time with no problems!

This is not the first time we were able to pull off an amazing display of moving power. As the official movers of the Denver Broncos, in 2016 we had the honor to transport their equipment for Super Bowl 50. Although not as much of a surprise, the 1,200 mile journey from Denver, CO to Santa Clara, CA was just as exciting of a haul for our team!
